I agree TV and social media are big distractions that we ought to be aware of. I am also eagerly seeking God and all that He has for me in Christ after some wilderness experiences…and I am truly convinced by now that speaking in tongues is the way to go.

Comment on Feeling Abandoned Me Too by smiling owl https://kevencard.com/feeling-abandoned-me-too/#comment-174 Sat, 17 Aug 2013 21:54:00 +0000 https://www.kevencard.com/?p=978#comment-174 Great writing, great topic and so blessed by your transparency, Keven. It is so rare these days. I find myself in that position of feeling isolated and abandoned quite often as well. My intellect is strong, and I know, God has not abandoned me, but I cannot always escape the harrowing feeling of vacancy all around me. I am middle age, divorced, two grown children, no family (they are deceased for 17 yrs now). There has been nothing more that I’ve wanted in life other than a supportive husband and family. I am following Christ, ‘on assignment’ at my current job. It is where God has chosen for me to be, not ‘the dream I had for myself’. I am very thankful and grateful for my job, but after seven years, can be very challenging mentally and emotionally, to the point of desperation. A cycle that has spun now for about 3 years. Sometimes, there’s simply no one to share my thoughts with or talk over situations that require my decision. Girl friends have remarried and moved away. Women that are truly dedicated to following the Lord, (in my life, that’s church) are only Spritual minded, and not inclined to get very close to you. Since having been in this boat before, (thank you Jesus) I know, without doubt, my God is a MIGHTY and faithful Father! He redeemed me from a pit I truly didn’t know (at the time) if I could or would come out of. But God… He did an absolute miracle and took care of me. And like you, my eyes get full of the storm and off of my Master and have to be readjusted. Thank you again for sharing your story and thank you for letting me share a little of mine. As a previous Pastor use to say, “We’re going to be okay, and we’re going to get through this together!” Amen. God Bless!

Comment on The Secret Of What Men Really Want From Their Wives! by smiling owl https://kevencard.com/the-secret-of-what-men-really-want-from-their-wives/#comment-170 Sat, 17 Aug 2013 21:14:00 +0000 https://www.kevencard.com/?p=986#comment-170 I totally agree with you Keven. Great insight. And for women, we do seem to need the feeling of security, but I know for myself, I don’t think a relationship can work if the woman doesn’t receive respect and admiration as well. Both people need to feel respected. I believe it has to be there as a foundation to then build upon.
