JOSEPH PRINCE, GOD’S GRACE AND ME
This weekend I we were blessed to have an incredible man of God preach at Lakewood Church. Of course, Pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen are incredible and if it weren’t for the ministry at Lakewood Church, I most likely wouldn’t be at church.
We were blessed this weekend by the teachings of Joseph Prince, a Pastor of a church in Singapore. His message of God’s grace is so powerful and one that I easily connect with; largely because of the grace God has shown me in my life despite the fact that for years I rejected the Church and the calling on my life.
It amazes me the patience that God has for us and for me in particular. If you don’t know anything about my story you read a snippet of it here; then you’ll understand why I am so amazed at God and baffled why he doesn’t just throw in the towel on people like me and move on to someone better.
Joseph Prince made it easy to understand why; it’s because God isn’t looking at me but Christ who live in me and Christ is a perfect being. It is because of the sacrifice of Jesus that despite my flaws the grace of God is extended to me and I can receive the blessings and favor that Jesus deserves in my own life.
I’ve come to understand that we aren’t measured by the laws of our Faith but through Christ we are forgiven of every wrong we’ve ever committed and continue to commit in our efforts to be like Christ. It has been both a revelation and a life changing experience for me to realize that I don’t have to measure up to some Biblical expectation but I only need to receive the love of God and the blessings will flow down to me.
We can receive our healing not by how much we pray or how hard we believe but by understanding that God’s love extends healing to us; our finances aren’t based on how much we give but by knowing that God loved us enough to send his only son to crawl upon a cross as the perfect sacrifice for all of our sin, our pain and our suffering so that we need not suffer in anything. We were made to receive God’s love for us and when we choose to let our the deep breath of anticipation and doubt and replace it will a pure knowing that God is the provider of ALL of our needs then we can see the manifestation of what is already ours. His blessings, His favor, His abundance belongs to us because He loves us and Jesus paid the price to remove us from the curse of the law.
How do we accomplish such and understanding?
We increase our faith by the repetition of hearing His word and in the personal relationship we have with God. He is our father and just like our father he wants to bless us with everything we need and more but if we don’t know Him how can we know that he wants us to be blessed?
My encouragement for you today; become aware of God’s deep and true love for you and let him bless you because no matter what you’ve done in your past He loved you enough to send His ONLY son as a sacrifice so that we can be close to Him…If that doesn’t scream “I love you” nothing will.
