Why is Destiny’s Journey So Hard?
I have to be honest with you; following our destiny can be a long and arduous road that seems to be all uphill. At times it will seem that we are so close to its peak and we get excited about the chance to see the world from above only to find that we’ve topped a hill instead of mastered the mountain in our journey.
This is both the blessing and the curse of following God’s ultimate plan for our lives and its fulfillment is buried within our perception of the journey. We have the choice to see the struggles as a curse but truthfully it is the blessing. The adversity is what shapes us for the next level in the journey; it is our training ground to give us the strength and develop the skills we’ll need not only to walk in our purpose but to endure its effects in our lives.
One part of my destiny was completing Marine Corps boot camp; surprisingly, when we came close to the end of that journey I didn’t want it to end because it was the journey that was special. It was extreme change in my life and every step of the way saw its unique challenges but it’s what I cherish in earning the title United States Marine. That journey is what gave me the skills I needed to perform my purpose as a Marine and to be the best at what I did.
Every destiny has a similar journey; it’s the journey that makes fulfilling our dreams, a dream; otherwise it would be considered usual and be unimpressive to achieve. Then most would be less likely to want to accomplish, want to invent, want for the world to be a better place.
It is this drive that we developed that has brought us the future and reminded us of the past. Without it we would still be walking everywhere we went, we’d not know what lies beneath the waves or what secrets hide in the outer reaches of space.
We must not discount the journey toward destiny as it is that journey that becomes our reward when we reach for the stars and grab hold of our dreams.
My friends dream often, dream big but most importantly never give up. Semper Fidelis!
