YOU MAY BE A JUDGING CHRISTIAN IF…
If you plug your ears because the person sitting right behind you in church can’t carry a tune to save their life; you may be a judging Christian!
If you switch seats in church because you’re sitting downwind from a person who doesn’t believe in wearing deodorant: you may be a judging Christian!
If the homeless guy who sits on the back row keeps you from hearing the sermon: you may be a judging Christian!
If you listen to the Pastor and think you “I could preach better than (him or her)”, you may be a judging Christian!
If you gasped under your breath when you saw that girl at church wearing a mini-skirt; you may be a judging Christian!
If you cringe at the sight of a teenage girl who is pregnant; you may be a judging Christian!
If you get angry because you suspect the person in the next pew may be a homosexual; you may be a judging Christian!
If you avoid a person in church because you heard that they cheated on their spouse; you may be a judging Christian!
If you think you’re entitled to sit on the front row in church; you may be a judging Christian!
So, here is all I’m saying: Don’t Judge Others Simply Because They Sin Differently Than You.
The reality is we all sin because we were all born into sin. It’s a part of the human experience but it doesn’t have to remain that way. Jesus came to deliver us from the curse of sin; making us blameless before God and empowering us to do one thing…
You see, if we want to see others change what they do, then we must help them see the love of Christ so they can receive the Holy Spirit who’ll guide them.
Romans 14: 22 You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.
23 But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
